Film Day

    Hi!! Today is Sunday and all of my filming is complete. The last two days which would be Friday and Saturday I went about filming my music video. On Friday I filmed at my girlfriends house. I had one of my friends be the filmer and me and my girlfriend were the actors in the video.  I was able to get about 15 good clips that could be usable for my video. I used props that I had readily available. I did not have a huge budget for this project so I could not go out and buy a bunch of props, costumes, or accessories. The consumes that I used for this production included pajama pants, hoodie, and a long-sleeved crop top. The props that I used included Santa headbands and Santa hats. After filming on Friday I also filmed on Saturday to get any additional clips that I may need. I filled the gaps with any clips that I did miss and didn't get the chance to film. Some things got overlooked as I was in a time crunch because I had dinner on Friday night. So I went back through and made sure that everything was perfect. Some of the shots took multiple takes to get the timing or angles right. Another thing that had to be right with the lighting. One issue with not being professional actors is that during some takes, the actors would end up laughing. This caused us to have to reshoot it and get it right. This filming day was actually very fun and enjoyable as the video I am filming is a funny and silly video. II feel like I have improved considerably from the first production to this one.

 Hello again!!! Today is Monday and I am back for the first production blog of this project and I am very excited that I have completed my filming of the opening scene. This scene has begun by setting the tone for the horror film which will unfold scene by scene. With each passing day my momentum of filming gains traction and I am starting to get into a groove. With my opening scene I filmed it in my girlfriends room and played with lighting and other factors. I did not want it to be too bright as that would give too much of an energetic vibe and that is not the tone of the film at all. Instead of turning on the celing lights I used a lamp as it was moodier and not as in your face. Another tactic that I used was to add props to give a further meaning to the character in the film. My girlfriend has done an amazing job being the actor so far and I really enjoy being the filmer. Closing Time...

 Hello again, today is March 9th, and I am almost at the end of this project. My movie has really shaped up since the last blog which was my start to the editing process. I got some input from some fellow students and how their productions have turned out. And mine may not be the best but I am still happy with how it has turned out. This production from start to finish took over a month because Junior year has been really hard and I have been trying to juggle SAT and ACT prep while keeping up with my grades and all my other work / tests. It gets very busy. For this project, just like all my other productions, I used my iPhone to film. Using an iPhone is just so simple and easy. It has an integrated camera that shoots in 4k quality and to edit all I have to do is select the clips and transfer them. It is extremely simple and the most convenient way to do this.
