Reflection on Taylormade

My product is cutting edge and is the leading brand across the sport. Taylormade is the most progressing and most popular Driver, putter, and ball. Taylormade does things differently than other companies and they are years ahead with their new technologies. My product allows golfers of any skill and golfers from all over the world to better their swing and their scores. It is unique in its own distinct ways and is top of the line. It could be distributed as real media text via TV broadcasts, YouTube ads, Tiktok, Instagram, and even Snapchat. My production skills were very shaky at first. I did not know how to get the proper shots or how to get the proper lighting. With some practice I was able to better myself through the project. However, I still have so much to improve upon and I cannot wait until I get the chance to do so in the future. While I was making my project I used my phone to film. I used my phone because it is always with me which means it is already easily accessible.

My Taylormade Commercial

This was my very first major project that I worked on. Looking back on this commercial and re-watching it, I can see many aspects that could be improved or changed. From the beginning this was expected as I have been able to improve my production skills day by day. I am proud of this first production, it shows how a base line for what I am capable of before having any significant production skills. I have set a goal to improve my next production and make it substantially better.

Production blog -Editing problems

Image
On 10/12/2022 I started editing my 30 second commercial. As I began to edit I ran into a few problems. My first problem was that the filmer got their finger in one of the important clips I needed. With the editing software I am using I could not crop the clip to get the finger out of the scene. I found a solution to this by changing this scene and all the scenes before it to black and white. My thought was that I could make all the scenes that occur before the ball rolls into the cup black and white. When the ball then did roll into the cup it could change back to normal color. I would also correlate this with a beat drop in a song. One other problem I found is that my final clip was filmed upside down. This clip or scene is the one with the golf ball sitting in the cup facing up with the logo showing. The logo showing makes it important that it is right side up. After filming I reverted the problem in the photos app on my phone. Although when I added this scene to the editing softwar

On 10/11/2022 I did not get to edit yet. I downloaded the software that I will be using to edit my commercial clips though. I have not really been able to edit or work on my commercial recently. I haven't been able to work recently because there has been a lot going on at school. There was an incident regarding a fellow student. In turn class was pushed back a couple days. I was not focused on my commercial or editing at the time.  The weekend then hit and I was not focused on any school work. I was very busy with sports and other activities with my friends that I didn't work on my commercial. My filming came out good and I am pretty sure I have enough scenes for the whole commercial. I plan to edit in the coming days and make all the clips flow together. I plan to use iMovie to edit my commercial. iMovie is a very simple software that I have used for years and am familiar with. In class today I worked on this production blog today in class. I have followed all of my procedure

On Wednesday the 5th I started filming my 30 second commercial. There was good weather which gave me the ability to film outside. I filmed at the golf course and was able to do what I needed to effectively. I brought my costumes and props to the location I filmed at. I made sure to direct the specific scenes that needed to be filmed with the filmer. I got the appropiate angles and shots needed. The golf course was busy but I managed to get enough space and time to film. I also made sure to re-shoot scenes that did not come out the right way. One scene I did was the ball rolling into the hole. This took two tries because the shot missed the first. I had to retake it to be able to get the exact shot I was looking for, for that scene. I set up one of my props so the logo could be read. I placed the ball in the cup with the Taylormade logo facing upwards so the camera could zoom in and capture the ball in the cup while displaying the logo. I did not use a tripod for this as it would not b

Scene by Scene

First Scene During the first scene I will be filming the underside of the putter coming out of the head cover. This shot will be an extreme close up. It is zoomed in so the actors face is not visible. The location for this shot is just off the putting green at the golf course. Golf attire is a key aspect to this shot. Second Scene The next scene was filmed from behind the subject. It displayed the subject setup to the ball. Only the actors ankles and feet are visible alone with the putter and the golf ball. The Taylormade logo is also made very visible to keep the main goal and idea present. The location for this scene is on the putting green at the golf course. Golf shoes are a key aspect to this shot. Third Scene  In this scene I wanted the subject to be fully visible. I made a full shot to display the action of the ball being putt and his attire. The subjects costume was complete golf attire and the scene was filmed on the putting green. There were plenty of trees and greenery in t
