Critical Reflection

Critical Reflection ^link^ Critical Reflection Kevin Ricks 1304 words How do your products represent social groups or issues? My short film has three characters. The characterisation in the short film is not limited, the names of the characters are known to the audience but not too deep into depths. My short film does briefly illustrate the problems faced by the main character. The main obstacle the character faces is to escape being kidnapped while on vacation in a foreign place that is unfamiliar. At its core, the abduction of a child evokes universal fears and concerns shared across communities worldwide. It boldly highlights the vulnerabilities individuals, especially children, face when navigating unfamiliar environments, emphasizing the importance of safety precautions and vigilance. The incident in my short film prompts discussions on the responsibilities of travel not traveling alone and the help of  local authorities in ensuring the security of tourists, shedding light on pote

Escaping Vacation Final Production

Movie This was my last major project that I will be working on. I worked on this one by myself and I feel it was much much harder than I anticipated. Looking back on this production and re-watching it, I can see many aspects that I have improved or changed from my previous films. However, I am still no professional and I continue to improve my production skills day by day but this is a significant improvement. I am proud of this production, it shows how I have progressed in a sense with my production skills But I still feel like it is not Amazing.  I tried and I had set a goal to keep improving all my next productions and make them substantially better each time and just continue to learn which I feel like I did and learning is the most important part. I do not feel like I need to have a perfect film and be the best. I understand the concepts and the process however and I feel that is important to learn as a life skill because it could help me in any job that I may hold in the future.

Closing Time...

Hello again, today is March 9th, and I am almost at the end of this project. My movie has really shaped up since the last blog which was my start to the editing process. I got some input from some fellow students and how their productions have turned out. And mine may not be the best but I am still happy with how it has turned out. This production from start to finish took over a month because Junior year has been really hard and I have been trying to juggle SAT and ACT prep while keeping up with my grades and all my other work / tests. It gets very busy. For this project, just like all my other productions, I used my iPhone to film. Using an iPhone is just so simple and easy. It has an integrated camera that shoots in 4k quality and to edit all I have to do is select the clips and transfer them. It is extremely simple and the most convenient way to do this. I have covered a lot of content regarding this production. Coming up I have many exams as the semester is concluding which puts

Editing Time

Today is Wednesday and I am almost at the end. Today I started editing my film and I used Filmora to edit because it is very user friendly and also Free which is good for my budget on a school project. I have been working on putting all of the clips together and making them flow along with the previous clip. The hard part is allowing all the clips to flow without gaps or substantial cuts. It's becoming quite hard but it is just going to take time. The transitions have to be just right. They cannot be took long or jump and they have to fade just right to be pleasing to the eye. I am very pleased with how better my editing has got. I have definitely improved significantly and I am very proud of that. This production is so much better and the edits are more seemless. I have gotten better also at the audio aspects and how I used different shots to portray a message. This editing has helped me learn how to truly edit a video and piece it all together as one. I still have to add all of
