Genre Research Decision / Horror

The first genre researched was Horror. These movies always seem to keep the attention of viewers while giving an uneasy or scared emotion, so it seemed like a good option to tell a story. These movies have become more and more popular over the last few years as well, which is another reason to use this genre. This genre is very vast and has so many options to explore and be able to express yourself with. The only issue with this genre was the difficulty in starting the title sequence and filming logistics. Other than this, the horror genre seems like an amazing fit for me.

The second genre researched was action. This seemed like another great option because of the constant interest it draws. Everyone seemed a bit more interested in this genre because there were more ideas that came from it. There are more of the group's favorite movies from this genre than any other genre. This genre seemed like a better fit than the comedy genre but there was still more research to be done.

The final genre researched was comedy. This was a last resort option in case the other two didn’t work out. Comedy movies are something everyone enjoys watching but they seemed difficult to create. There were too many loose ideas with no story line. This made the genre too difficult and put it to the back of the list.

My final decision was to use the Horror genre. I felt it was the best fit and everything I envision to do within this film. A Horror film allows me to have some fun while also keeping it in a serious manner and being scary. I enjoy the suspense and the drama of a good storyline that has meaning and purpose to a high cause.
